Nutrition Dictionary:
This nutrition dictionary provides audio support to help the student enunciate the nutrition related words. When a word is selected, the word will automatically be pronounced, helping the student learn the correct pronunciation. For some of the more difficult words, syntax is also provided.
Select the letter at the top and the words beginning with that letter are shown to the left. For some letters, vertical scrolling will be required. An arrow at the top and bottom of the section will appear to guide the student when to scroll to see more words. Each nutrition word will provide facts, pertinent health information and associated foods.

Print Nutrition Vocabulary Worksheet to use with this lesson.

Procedure:

Hand out the Nutrition Vocabulary Worksheet

Select five to ten words from nutrition vocabulary list below.

Guide the students to Talking Nutrition Dictionary

Instruct students to look up the word in the dictionary.

Have the student write down at least one health fact they have learned about each of the vocabulary
Assessment:
Have the students select five words from the
dictionary. Have them create their own nutrition pictionary by drawing or pasting images to describe one health meaning associated with each word. Once they have created their nutrition pictionaries, have them share them in class.
