Meal Planning
Colorful daily meal guidelines for children two to three years old. Just print out the proper calorie level for your child and post on the refrigerator as a guideline.
It is always best to involve children and review the meal plan and the importance of a healthy meal. Have children help pick their favorite fruits and vegetables. If they follow the My Plate recommended guidelines, half their plate should have a mixture of fruits and vegetables.
Calorie based meal plans are based on the USDA food guidelines and summarize the portions required from each of the food groups for a well-balanced, healthy meal.
This a meal plan for one full day. if you are not sure exactly what your child's calorie requirements are or need more help in developing a healthy meal plan, please consult your pediatrician or dietitian.
Please remember that a healthy meal has a breakfast, lunch and dinner and one or two snacks. When you divide up the food groups into meals, you will be teaching your child healthy and proper portion sizes. See all our
