Family Nutrition Blog
Our blog ‘Nourishing Thoughts’ keeps families informed on current nutrition news, fun kid-friendly nutrition tips to encourage healthy food, nutrition, and exercise choices, nutrition articles, and interactive tools for parents. Our healthy nutrition blog is for parents, teachers, and everyone who is interested in kids' health and nutrition.
Often, we will have weekly themes about healthy habits. The topic is discussed on Mondays, we follow up with a fun informative infographic that provides key facts about the topic, finishing up on Friday with some great materials and resources to use to bring that topic to home, school or wherever you are working with children to promote healthier habits! Enjoy.

About Maggie
I am a nurse and a mother of two. I am also the founder of Nourish Interactive. I am very concerned about the health and well being of our children. I started the Nourishing Thoughts Blog so that I could help parents keep up on the latest trends in children’s nutrition and exercise.
I know that much like reading and writing is the foundation for learning, nutrition is the foundation for healthy children. But with so many new studies, products and trends constantly being reported it is hard to keep up. I just want to make it a little easier for parents by doing some of the legwork and providing you with up to date information.
Just wanted to wish everyone a safe and healthy Halloween.

Last week, I went to see the Giants play and win. The next day they won the pennant. Yes, I am born and raised in San Francisco. (not Frisco, San Francisco!) It was so much fun and exciting to be part of the crowd in San Francisco as we all came...
I just wanted to quickly share some thoughts on school lunches. I believe kids want to be healthy. But sometimes, they are not sure exactly what that means. It is too vague.
Instead, help kids be healthier by involving them in day to day food...
With the celebration and awareness about school lunches, it got me wondering about what kids eat in other parts of the world for their school lunch? I grew up in San Francisco mission district. And we were fairly diverse population. So I did lear...
When I was growing up, I pretty much ate homemade lunches. We did not have a regular school lunch. I remember a couple of friends who sometimes did not have lunch. I was young and really did not think much about what this meant to these kids. I ...
I have been talking about the Farm to School month and a great way to remind children where food really comes from. Farm to school programs are not just about where food comes from. Ultimately, it is about feeding children healthy fresh foods. Yo...
