Monday’s Nourishing Thought:
Nourish Interactive wishes all the Dad's a special Father's Day!
This Sunday is Father's Day and a time to remember the special fathers in our lives.
My Dad is a special man that helped my mom raised me and my sister. He is my uncle but since I can remember I have always called him Dad. Even though my father wasn't around, he was always there watching over me, loving me and caring for me. I never felt like I did not have a Dad.
I don't really remember a time when he was not there encouraging me and always letting me know how proud he was of me. His love and commitment to being my Dad was a source of inspiration and drive for me. I wanted to do well, not only for myself but also to show him that I was listening and learning from him. He always emphasized the value of education and hard work.
He also instilled the importance of family and always being together as a unit to help each other and build each other up. To encourage each other and support each other. To this day, I hear him sharing his wisdom.
He didn't have to step up and be my Dad. He would have been a wonderful uncle. But sometime when I was very, very young, he promised to be my Dad and he has always kept that promise.
Father - Daughter dances, my sporting events, parent-teacher conferences, weekend getaways etc, he was there for me. I never felt like he wasn't my Dad.
Part of being a healthy child is having love and support of your parents and family. I always had that.
So I just want to thank you Dad for being my special Dad and choosing to be always be there for me.
