Today is my mom's birthday. I want to wish her a wonderful special day has she becomes 87.
Now when you think of 87, you might envision an elderly frail women who needs some help when she walks.
That would be further from the truth when it comes to my mom. She is active, walks every day, takes the bus all over the place and loves to dance. She goes to her senior citizen dance and exercise program several times a week.
She cooks, cleans and doesn't like to waste anything. She collects the plastic bags and brings them to the local grocer to recycle.
AND.... she is very healthy. Not one medicine. I can't count her vitamins she takes each morning.
You may have read about my abuelita (grandmother) who lived until she was 107 and healthy to the end. My honest belief is the nutrition and natural foods that my mom and grandmother were raised from way up in the mountains of Peru. No canned foods, no processed foods, everything fresh and grown locally.
Happy Birthday Mom! Thanks for all the wonderful habits you have taught me (even though I did not always appreciate it).
Love you!
Nourish Thought for the Day:
Never underestimate the power of healthy eating.
