Fun ways for kids to stay active & fit

 
 
  1. After dinner, teach kids to do a fun activity that will burn some calories like a set of jumping jacks.
  2. Have family contests: who can jump rope the longest?
  3. Play Duck, Duck, Goose or London Bridge
  4. Sledding
  5. Start small, gradually adding new activities to your routine
  6. Wheel barrel races
  7. Hop like a bunny.
  8. Walk like a spider.
  9. Ice skating party
  10. Potato sack races
  11. Miniature golf
  12. Visit a swimming park
  13. Touch football party
  14. Go on a family bike ride through the neighborhood.
  15. It's Autumn and the leaves are changing color. Take the kids on a nature walk and see how many different colored leaves you can find. Collect leaves and rocks that your child can use to make a collage.
  16. Create sidewalk art with chalk and play hopscotch
  17. Run like a gorilla.
  18. Stretch like a cat.
  19. Fly a kite on a grassy field or beach
