Mussels in a Bag

Easy to make and everyone will have enough to eat.

Ingredients

  • Mussels 25 per person
  • Tomato sauce 1 cup per person

Directions

Adults: Individual serving is 25 mussels and 1 cup of tomato sauce.
Kids: Place individual serving of mussels in each pouch and add the tomato sauce. Seal the bag tightly.
Adults: Place in 375-degree oven 12-15 minutes
Adults: The bags will puff up when ready. Be very careful when opening, as the steam will release!!
Adults: Note: How to clean mussels: rinse in cold water and pull off the beards(the black strings hanging from the mussel). Discard any mussels that don’t close when tapped with your finger.
Together: Once cooked, discard any mussels that don’t open.
Adults: To make the pouches: use heavy duty foil or use a double sheet of regular foil. Cut 3 feet of foil and fold in half.
Together: Fold three of the edges over twice, making sure the edges are sealed tightly. Leave one end open so that mussels can be placed in the sack.
