I know our blogs are normally about healthy eating and being active but I just saw a video that I wanted to share with you. We all have loved ones that we know are texting while driving. And yes, honey, I am talking to you.
I personally tried it once, but I was so shaken by how quickly I lost sight of the road that I never did it again. I am also a big Glee fan and was shocked by the cliff hanger where a glee student was texting and got into a terrible car accident.
What the video and share with others because this is really a growing safety hazard for all us. Even if you don't text while driving, you could be in an accident with someone who was texting. Watch the video
The Last Text: AT&T Documentary
Here are some sobering facts:
According to a study by the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute:
AT&T is stepping up and supporting a campaign to raise awareness about this deadly habit. They also have created an app that provides a solution to help you stop texting.
You can show your support by making a pledge on the AT&T facebook page to not text while driving. For every pledge, AT&T will contribute to non-profit organizations focused on youth safety.
You can also get their free app for your smart phone that allows you to set your phone in "drive mode" so it handles your texts for you while you drive.
