Four simple steps to creating a healthy Thanksgiving dinner for the whole family.

It's Thanksgiving where most of us will eat way too much. In fact, you might be surprised to know that the average American will consume 4500 calories on Thanksgiving! Yes, I was surprised too!
But I think the most important thing to realize is that the kids are watching and learning. They are learning what to expect and how to eat on holidays from you. Afterall, didn't we learn from our families?
But with a few easy tips, you can eat healthier and role model to the kids good eating habits during the holidays.
- First, plan your Thanksgiving feast with extra side dishes of vegetables!
- Second, use smaller plates to help control portions
- Three, drink plenty of water, your body needs it to help digest the extra food and it is a good way to help control portions.
- Fourth, save room for desserts however, slice your pie into 16 slices and use nonfat whipped cream.
