healthy protein tipsThe USDA recommends that you choose lean meats.  Meats are an excellent source of protein and iron but they can also be high in saturated fats and cholesterol.  Both saturated fats and cholesterol are not good for your family's heart.

When eating meat, teach children how to select leaner meat.  By removing the fat, grissle and skin, you can reduce the fat found in meats. 

Don't forget to vary your protein by teaching children to eat seafood, beans, legumes, nuts and seeds for a healthier diet.
